PROJECT OBJECTIVES
- Contribute in elaborate of community resilience against natural disaster (flood) and food security through community-based mitigation measures in Ghor province
- To support access to adequate food in the target communities through making the 19,400 people resilient against flood and its consequences through establishment of protection walls, irrigation canals and access roads within 6 months of the project started in June 2019
- To prevent shortage of adequate food materials for 1,986 families till next lean season through providing employment opportunities for skilled and unskilled laborers in target villages Firoozkoh
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY
CRDSA conducted technical field assessments in the target villages and the capacity and vulnerability of the communities were assessed. CRDSA technical engineer prepared designs and BoQ for all 8 proposed interventions. This information is base of CRDSA proposal. Through kind support of WFP, the structures will be constructed in accordance with designs and BoQ approved by donor.
Distribution Mechanism
CRDSA will distribute food materials ( ration size = wheat flour 100 kg/ month, pulse 16 kg/month, vegetable oil 7.4 kg/ month, Iodized salt 1 kg/ month and Plumy doz 1.5 Kgr/month) for those laborers who have no skill and just work as the simple workers. As noted above, the beneficiaries receive food package at the end of teach month after completing 22 working days per month. In addition, CRDSA will pay cash for mason in daily basis
