Unfortunately, during the decades of war in Afghanistan, children have suffered the most mental and emotional damage.
CRDSA recently started a partnership Child Protection project funded by the Open Society Foundation (OSF). Under this project, CRDSA established 2 Community-Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPC) providing training, mentoring, and resources to enable each committee to support the identification and referral of child protection cases in their respective communities.
CRDSA is providing Psychosocial Support Services (PSS) and Psychological First Aid (PFA) to 300 participants, through 2 established Child-Friendly Spaces (CFSs) operating by trained facilitators.
Also, a total of 2,000 men and women will receive awareness-raising messages in regards to Child Protection, during the period of the project and CRDSA will provide cash for food to cover 500 most at-risk vulnerable households in PD6 and PD11 of Herat city, and recipients will receive 2 rounds of cash transfers that will support them to cover their unmet basic food needs for 2 months.
